Fun Facts about Me

I love the beach, the salt water, the sea air and the sand between my toes!

My son Troy is one of my life's greatest achievements.  He's amazing and I am not biased, at all.

Colourful food makes me very happy.  Cooking is my other passion after Photography.

I love music.  Not one particular genre... I'm happy listening to Folk, Indie, Reggae, Pop, Blues, R&B, World Music and even Classical or Opera.  It just depends on how I feel.  When having fun, I do gravitate towards 80's music, though.  Come on Eileen by Dexy's Midnight Runners is my theme song!

My husband has super powers...  They include patience, folding clothes like a high-end department store, world's best hugs, world's funniest man when I'm feeling down, is able to make my "hare-brained schemes" a reality and makes me the world's best cup of tea every morning.

I love rainy days.  According to the Collin's English Dictionary I am a Pluviophile (keep reading) - "a lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days."

I'm Vegan.  Not the "I can't believe it's not Lentils" kind of Vegan but I enjoy eating food that makes me feel good.

Yoga makes me very happy - when I take the time to do it...  Just the thought of Yoga makes me feel great, though

I used to be a Bellydancer.... It was a lot of fun and my costumes were amazing...!

Hello...  I'm Kristen but my friends call me Krissy...

I'm so happy you have stopped by to check out my Website!  And that you have decided to find out more about me...

Although, in the early stages of my photography career I never thought I'd say this, but I just absolutely and completely LOVE weddings!  So much preparation, time, thought and energy goes into creating this amazing day and each and every one of them is so different.  It becomes an extension of the Bride and Groom's personality and I really enjoy having a backstage pass to all the action.

Originally I'm from New Zealand but came to live in Australia when I was very young...  blah, blah, blah...  you've probably already read just under a thousand "About Me" pages, so let me get to the point...

I live and work in the Hunter Valley (Muswellbrook to be exact) with my husband Steve and four (yeah, you heard right, four) cats.  Their names are Missy, Harry, Lilliana Lillypad and Indiana Jane.  The other love of my life is my son, Troy, who lives in Newcastle. These humans (and four-legged humans) are my Universe and I love them.

In a nutshell - I've been doing photography since 2002 and I have learned from some of the best Wedding Photographers the world has to offer.  This industry always has something new going on and I strive to be at the forefront.  Wedding Photography allows me to be a Photojournalist, a Fashion Photographer, a Product Photographer (rings, shoes, accessories, etc), a Portrait Photographer, a Storyteller and, more importantly, a Friend.  That includes free hugs, I'm always available for free hugs.

Enough about my life story, you'll hear all about that when we get to spend time together, but I'm really interested in yours...  especially the part where you met your partner/fiance, fell in love (I'm a hopeless romantic), where you've been and what adventures you have both shared.  What's your favourite song/movie/TV show?  What's your favourite (and not so favourite) food?  What makes you laugh and sing?  Do you prefer hustle and bustle or a quiet walk on the beach together?

Everyone is so different and that's what excites me most of all about what I do. I get to spend time with some pretty awesome individuals and tell their stories through photography.

So, if you are in love, love life, don't take things too damn seriously, love to laugh, appreciate creativity and the process (or even if you don't), then I think it would be a great idea for us to make a time to have a chat.

I look forward to it....
